Rothbury Community Church

Camera System and Wireless Network

Project Summary

In 2018 RCC approached CatchMark Technologies and requested an estimate for an eighteen-camera surveillance system to be installed at their Rothbury, MI site. The project seemed straight forward, but after conducting a walk through and collaborating with the customer, CMT discovered there were additional requirements needing to be addressed.

RCC had specific retention, access, and viewing requirements. The Church building had no existing ethernet cabling, and RCC requested that CMT build out wireless network coverage for the entire 25,000 square foot Church building, that included a public and private (secure) network.

CMT got to work quickly and engineered a network/structured cabling plan to support the new devices. Two weeks later we had an approved plan and began execution. Within one-week CMT had run and terminated 10’s of thousands of CAT6 cabling, installed and configured eighteen IP camera’s, installed and configured internal and external camera access, and set up a remote viewing area at the visitor welcome center. In addition, CMT installed and configured wireless access points along with a wireless controller that extended wireless access to all parts of the Church building with private and public accessibility.

RCC was thrilled with the new capabilities and in 2019 has asked us to install additional cameras used to monitor other locations.
